Shivalik Deluxe India Tour is a mesmerizing journey passing through the picturesque landscapes of majestic Himalayas, lush green valleys and a large number of tunnels and bridges reaching to its final destination Shimla, the former 'Summer Capital' of the Britishers.
The five-hour journey could be regarded as one of the best train journeys in India. It covers a distance of 96 km, between Shimla and Kalka, passing through 103 tunnels, 969 bridges, 919 curves and 20 railway stations. Thus providing a truly adventurous ride to the tourists visiting India. This luxury train was inaugurated by the British viceroy, Lord Curzon in November 1903.
Shivalik Deluxe Express starts in early morning from Kalka and provides a 5 hour-long comfortable journey marked by great hospitality and delicious cuisine. While going to Shimla the train has only one stop - Barog.
This luxury train has a seating capacity of 120.All the coaches have been provided with wall-to-wall carpeting, reversible cushioned chairs, designer table for meals and music system for comfort and entertainment.
In case of any emergence you can communicate with the guard through Microphones and alarm bells.
The fare is Rs. 305 per ticket either way between Kalka and Shimla. Breakfast is served in the Uphill journey and dinner during the Downhill journey.
